Lewis Hamilton gives Roscoe health update after recent pneumonia battle

Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has provided an update on his dog, Roscoe, ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
This comes after recent concerns as the English Bulldog hasn't been seen at a Grand Prix in some time. While speaking to the media in Imola, the British driver explained that Roscoe is still doing well despite his age and is recovering from his recent pneumonia.
“He's 12-and-a-half years old so he's an old boy. He had pneumonia, but he's fine now," Hamilton explained.
"But this is a time where every time I get a text message from the lady who's looking after him, my heart stops for a second. You know, what's next?
"I really want to try and bring him to Silverstone, and particularly to Monza, this year. Get him a red cape. It’s unusual for a bulldog to be as old as he is.
"I was with him before Miami and he still wants to play. Still got that kind of youthful spirit. He does like to sleep a lot."
Hamilton joined Ferrari at the start of 2025 after a 12-year stint at Mercedes. The 40-year-old also spoke to the media in Imola about his transition to the Maranello squad, admitting that he didn't know how tough it was going to be. He explained:
"I anticipated it would be very tough, because I've joined a team before.
"I came in with a really open mind. I didn't know how tough it was going to be. I knew it was going to be challenging. It's as challenging as it could ever be on all fronts.

"Championship? There's still a long, long way to go. From all the years of experience, when you're over 100 points behind at this point in the season, with a car that's up against a car that's quite dominant, you have to assume that you're not necessarily fighting for the win in the championship.
“But things could turn around. We've never seen that happen.”
